Potential CBMW Members
We’ll be delighted to see you on one of our walks – it’s always a good idea to start with walks at the easier end of the grades so that you get an idea of what level you will enjoy. If you find the walks too easy you can always try one from the next grade the next time.
As far as protocol goes, we are a very informal group, All we ask of people is that they read and agree to abide by our conventions (found on the website and summarised in the first section of our programme) – which are really just a list of common sense suggestions for good mountain walking practice – and a contribution towards the costs of hosting our website (this year set at €2 per person for the season). You will be asked for this when you go along to a walk and given a key fob as a thank you and as a form of receipt. When you walk with us for the first time, we suggest that you call the relevant leader first so they can answer any questions you may have and also make you feel welcome when you arrive. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and friendly group.
One final point – it’s always worth checking the Stop Press on the front page of our website just in case we have had to make a rare last minute changes to one of our walks. Alternatively if you sign up to our mailing list (via the form below) you will automatically be sent a copy of any Stop Press notices. We do not share your email with any other organisation and you can unsubscribe at any time.
